Description: The office of the General Counsel represents the Social Security Administration in a wide variety of matters, including administration of the agency’s disability benefits programs, personnel and employment disputes, and enforcement of the Federal Privacy Act. Attorneys represent the agency in federal district and appellate courts as well as before administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Merit Systems Protection Board. Summer interns will have an opportunity to work with attorneys in these various practice areas. The Program is open to students who will have completed their second year of law school. The intern positions are unpaid, but will qualify for academic credit.
